Engineering promotion association is accelerating a basic design of ocean current power generators towards to development of 2 mega watts class model. The power generator will the world largest ocean current power generator with unique design of Loopwing turbine system. They employed Loopwing turbine which developed by Loopwing co., ltd. (Chiyodaku, Tokyo) for its key component of the ocean current generator. Compare to propeller designed turbine, loop shaped turbine reduces significantly large amount of operational cost. With this Loopwing technology, the larger sized turbine can be designed which enables to generate high power out put with high efficiency. In addition to that, this technology enables to bring light weight structure and high durability。
