Ocean current power generator of 2 mega watts class
Engineering promotion association (Minatoku, Tokyo) is developing a 2 mega watts class ocean current power generator, the world largest ocean power generator. They employed Loopwing turbine which developed by Loopwing co., ltd. (Chiyodaku, Tokyo) for its key component of the ocean current generator. This new technology enables the turbine to enlarge the size of the generator and lighten the weight of the over all device. Substantiative experiments to verify the effectiveness of the technology with 1/50 scale device has been succeeded to generate 400KW in a water tank. The total amount of the energy which generated by 2MW systems in a year will be 7,600,000kWh, this amount will cover the consumption of the electricity for 21,000 houses. There is enormous potential power can be generate electricity around the Japan such as Kuroshio the black ocean current.
